Great questions.
In Copilot Studio, there are two ways of creating agents that can be published to the Microsoft 365 Copilot (henceforth, I will refer to it as M365 Copilot):
- Click on "Library" on the navigation menu on the left, then click "Add an Item", and then "New Agent".
- A second way of doing this is if you have a M365 Copilot license: From inside Copilot Studio, click on "Agents".
- It will show you any existing agents you've created AND it will show you one called "Copilot for Microsoft 365".
- Again, this is ONLY available if you have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
- Click this, and it will show any existing Agents for the M365 Copilot as well as give you the option to create a new agent.
Important note: If you just click Create from the navigation menu on the left and create a new agent, those CANNOT be deployed to the Microsoft 365 Copilot (at least, that is the case at the time of this writing). Those agents can only be published to Teams or other channels but not the M365 Copilot.
As for your second question about where you can edit agents created directly from the Microsoft 365 Copilot, there isn't yet a place to do that today, but I imagine this will be possible in the future. Right now, you can only make new ones and uninstall them. It likely has to do with the fact that these agents created from M365 Copilot are "personal" and unique to the user.
On the other hand, Agents created from Copilot Studio are for the organization and can be managed and edited from inside Copilot Studio.
