Unable to connect to a SharePoint task list

Hello,

I'd like to use conditions on items from a SharePoint task list.

The name of this task list does not appear in the selection menu.

And when I enter a custom value corresponding to the actual name of the task list, it does not connect.

Any idea how to proceed?

Note: The task list has few extra custom columns.

Thanks for your support -

    Hi francoisperlade,

When using default SharePoint list, we need to enter the list name manually after clicking the “Enter custom value”.

Then in the next action, you would be able to select all the available dynamic contents from the default list.

When testing with the Tasks list, I create a list named “MyTasksList”. In the action “Get items”, clicking the Enter custom value, then enter the name “MyTasksList” manually. In the next action “Send email”, all the available dynamic contents are displayed.

    Thanks Mabel,

I am following your advice and I cannot see the dynamic content as you mention.

PS: I appreciate your feedback about privacy and I have removed the screenshot in my initial post.

    Hi francoisperlade,

Are you able to get dynamic contents from a custom SharePoint list?

Please try to recreate the connection then start the flow from blank to see if it will work.

When testing it on my side, all the dynamic contents are available for either default lists or custom list.

    Please try again with it.

    Best regards,

    Hi ,

Yes, I am able to get dynamic contents from a custom SharePoint list.

It is working very well with standard custom list: all the contents are available.

Why is it failing with my task list in particular?

    Hi @francoisperlade,

Could you please share your custom task list details, so I'll try to recreate it?

Just make a screenshot of the task fields properties.

I'm new to flow yet, but I used similar actions several times and there were no issues with it, so I'm curious about the problem.

    Thanks,

    Pavel

    Hi francoisperlade,

    Thanks for updating.

Please make sure you entered the exact name of the Tasks list.

You could also create another standard list to test this issue, such as a Calendar list to see if you would still get the same issue.

    Best regards,

I have no problem with a standard calendar list.

If I type the name in, manually, all the dynamic contents are immediately available.

(I have checked my list name again)

    Hi francoisperlade,

If you are able to get dynamic contents from Calendar list, you should be able to get dynamic contents from Tasks list.

Which browser are you using? Please change the browser to see if it will work.

Please also try to create another Tasks list to test this issue, and make sure you do have permission to access it.

    Best regards,
    Mabel Mao

    Hi ,

    1. I am using IE 11 running on Windows 7. I have tested with Google Chrome: same issue.

    2. Dynamic contents appear with another task lists, even on the same SharePoint site.

The only difference I see is that I have added columns to the initial task list.

Could it be that when task lists are customised the dynamic contents are not available?

    Cheers,

Hello Pavel, thanks for your support.

As it works with a standard task list,

what I will do is to create again the same custom task list, in the same SharePoint site, adding columns one by one.

I will check at which moment Flow cannot display the dynamic content anymore...

This will take me hours 😞
