Sharepoint: For a selected file - email input ="Access token validation failure. Invalid audience."

I have a flow that's been working great for my team for over 2 years. Now all of a sudden, several people are having issues with it. The trigger is SharePoint: For a selected file. It has an email input where they put in people's names who will receive an approval email. It should work as a people picker, but now for these users, it says "Access token validation failure. Invalid audience."

I have searched the internet for solutions. Things I have tried:

  • Rebuilding the flow (as is and also trying a similar Microsoft template)
  • Building a very basic flow that includes a people picker
  • Had them sign into https://make.powerautomate.com and look for broken connectors.
  • Had them try it in both Edge and Chrome

Nothing works. I also tried posting on our corporate Yammer and our Microsoft team has not been any help either.

The flow is still working for several people though, and works for me in Edge, but I do get that same access token error myself in Chrome. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thank you!

    Hi,
I am facing the very same issue. Were you able to resolve this?

Yes, I did! I did 2 things and I'm not sure if it was the combination or one or the other that did it. But it's working now:

    1. In Power Automate - had user go to Data > Connections > Find the ones used in the workflow > Ellipsis > switch account > use their normal account OR 2) delete the connection and recreate it.

    2. Reset browser settings (we use Edge). In Edge > Settings > Reset settings > Restore to default. Also clear cache and cookies.

Doing #1 did not immediately fix the issue, but once the browser was reset - it worked. IT advised me that #1 is finicky and sometimes you have to do it a couple times. Hope it works for you!
