I have a client request for a Power Automate approval timeout window reset.  Can an approval timeout window be reset after the approval has been reassigned?  Currently if you reassign the approval it still runs under the original timeout window.

    Hey @pmbowey

If you are asking about default / out of box then it wont reset timeout window.

But you could potentially build custom process to handle such behavior yet it wont be something easy. One of the alternatives is also to add Power Apps form for the Users to take actions (including reassign) and drive process based on the Users interactions (including reset of timeout/escalation)

Hope this helps if yes please remember to accept solution for other community members to find answers quicker.

Yes, I was referencing an out of the box option.

Can you expand on the custom process option?  Would this be a custom script or a separate library that flow would reference?

In regarding the alternative, I'm familiar with Power Apps,  how would a Power Apps form handle the timeout/escalation?

It all depends on the whole process.

One of the options which I see with using Power Apps would be:
    - Starting Approval process would also init the Timeout calculated date
    - Approver could take Reassign action in Form If the Reassign have value it could reset the timeout date
    - Flow could daily check the timeout dates and send summary or take action on the items which are in filter

For the Flow only scenario you would need to think about modular approach to the process construction. Idea would be to lunch new Approval (child process) via master if the Master detected Reassign action (it would need to be one options for Approver, not default Approval Reassign option, you could use for that Adaptive Cards or Actionable messages).
