Suggest Topics - connection failure

Posted on by 4
I am getting the following error trying to test out the "suggest topics feature. Connection issues
We couldn’t connect to this webpage, or it’s not secure. Make sure it’s secure (beginning with https://) and that it’s a working website.

But my website is valid and secure. Any idea what would be causing this, or if there is anywhere I can get more details on this error? It doesn't seem to matter which page of mine point to. Just trying to test this out before I get serious about implementing it.

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with "Suggest topics", specifically the error:

"We ran into problems getting suggestions from some of the links. View details for each one and try again.

    Connection issues

We couldn’t connect to this link, or it’s not secure. Make sure it’s secure (beginning with https://) and that it’s a working link."

    Answers to previously posed questions:

Did your URL start with "https"?  Yes.

Do your webpage is public or you need to insert the credentials? I am using a OneDrive link shared with Anyone (doesn't require login). The link works fine for me and other users.

Do your webpage has the FAQ structure? I am sharing a CSV file that has two columns as described here.

I wonder about the "FAQ structure" referred to in a few posts. What is meant by "FAQ structure"? Is a CSV file with two 'columns' a FAQ structure?

Re: Suggest Topics - connection failure

    Hi,

I am receiving the error below when I try to use Suggest Topics in Power Virtual Agents from MS Teams. I also tried to create a csv file containing the questions and answers and referred to the file using https (with the same certificate) link and I received the same error message.

We ran into problems getting suggestions from some of the links. View details for each one and try again.

    Connection issues

We couldn’t connect to this link, or it’s not secure. Make sure it’s secure (beginning with https://) and that it’s a working link. Below is the link and you can check that the certificate is valid.

    https://www.ndu.edu.lb/about-ndu/administration/offices/registrars-office/faq

Kindly advise how to make it work on this link or on a csv file extracted from this page. Is it related to the certificate we're using?

Kindly note that the same process worked when I used the link below and some other FAQ pages. https://online.lau.edu.lb/faq/

    Kindly advise.

    Thank you,

Re: Suggest Topics - connection failure

Hi, has Microsoft now made it possible to use Sharepoint files to easily suggest the topics? I'm having the same issues here - it won't connect to our https prefixed FAQ page and also won't connect to our Sharepoint hosted word document

Hey! I ran into an issue like this, but if I click on the X that the message comes from, it doesn't go away. Is there a way to delete that message?PVA Error.png

Ah, too bad. I hope MS updates this soon as pulling FAQs from intranet sites is important. Thanks for your help!

    Hi @ehr ,

Today, you cannot import FAQ using the SharePoint site pages, lists, or libraries.

Microsoft is working on it, but it's not available yet.

Re: Suggest Topics - connection failure

I'm having the same problem with this error:

"We ran into problems getting suggestions from some webpages. View details for each page and try again. Connection issues

We couldn’t connect to this webpage, or it’s not secure. Make sure it’s secure (beginning with https://) and that it’s a working website."

I am trying to connect to secure, internal Sharepoint site pages that are https and structured as FAQs. I'm signed in and authenticated as the administrator of Sharepoint as well. However I get the above message every time.

What might be the issue and how can I resolve this?

    Thank you!

Re: Suggest Topics - connection failure

ok, thanks @renatoromao . I'll start with a small little Q&A and make sure it works. I guess it is just a poorly identified error message.
