Hi All,

Probably a SharePoint question, but one that has been bugging me as I start to convert some older Classic lists to Modern and change the InfoPath edit forms to PowerApps.

I have a couple that simply do not give the option as below - I cannot see anything different about them and all the other "New Experience" bits work fine - I just cannot get to PowerApps from them (even in Form Settings, the option is not there.)

View with option missing and then all the others (which I am sure everyone has seen)

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @WarrenBelz ,

Do you mean that some of your sharepoint list could create powerapps custom form, some couldn't?

If so, this is sharepoint list problem, not PowerApps problem.

Are these sharepoint lists exporting from Excel?

Actually, those lists can not create powerapps custom form.

You could only create powerapps custom form for those lists created in sharepoint.

I suggest you not use "export to sharepoint" in Excel, try to use "Import Spreadsheet" feather in sharepoint list.

In this situation, you could create custom form.

Steps:

1)choose "app" in your site home

2)choose "Import Spreadsheet"

I’ve never tested, but curious if the ones not showing you the option ~ are they on prem SharePoint sites?

These are old lists and may have been imported from Excel, which is something I never do directly. For big data sets, I create the fields and then import Excel into an Access list then push them up a couple of a hundred at a time (to avoid throttling) to SharePoint with an SQL Insert query. This is actually our production importing process for bulk new records.
They are major production lists and I am very reticent to try to duplicate them on a new list just to do this. The editing is mostly done in either PowerApps or Access, so the InfoPath forms will be staying unless there is another solution.
Please confirm I am interpreting this correctly.

Hi @WarrenBelz ,

Ok, I understand.

Have you tried to import data from excel in your sharepoint list like I mentioned?

I believe in this situation, you will have the option of "customize forms" in your list.

We have no issues with our more recent lists - I have about 60 lists and only three older ones are left to convert (although they are big ones)- all others are now Full new Experience. We do not need Excel imports any more as we converted all the Excel processes some time ago.
