Error signing into PowerApps Studio

I see that people are saying [forms authentication] needs to be turned on when they are confronted with the "ERROR occred contact your administrator"  -  this happens when trying tosign in to PowerApps Studio Windows 10 App. We do not want to turn this feature on and possibly leave security holes. Is there a workaround to getting PowerApps to sign in while on domain network. Or can someone assure me that turning on forms authentication is safe?

Teams has a failure on first sign in attempt but another sign in page opens and allows the application to load. My guess is that there was a similar issue with Teams authentication and Microsoft found a solution to make it work.

I am getting the same error. Has this been resolved WITHOUT turning on Forms Authentication?

Re: Error signing into PowerApps Studio

Still looking for an answer and plan to use the web browser version until issue resolved.

This is Microsoft support answer to the same issue but for errors signing in using IOS or MAC but we don't want to enable forms authentication...

If you use AD FS in Windows Server 2012 R2

    Follow these steps:

    1. In Server Manager on the AD FS 3.0 server, click Tools, and then select AD FS Management.
    2. In the AD FS snap-in, click Authentication Policies.
    3. In the Primary Authentication section, click Edit next to Global Settings.
    4. In the Edit Global Authentication Policy dialog box, click the Primary tab, and then under Extranet and under Intranet, click to select the Forms Authentication check box.

Screen shot of the Edit Global Authentication Policy dialog box, showing the Forms Authentication check boxes

Just noticed this message on the support page

Some users are unable to launch the PowerApps Windows app after updating Windows 10 to version 1703. Mitigation: Please edit apps using PowerApps Web Authoring and run apps in a web browser on Windows until the issue is resolved.

I would really appreciate any help with this if you can provide some insight. We are getting to appreciate the power of PowerApps and are trying to create some Database connected Apps to use in the business and improve our workflow.

Now Teams does the same thing but then provides another sign in windows and gets around the issue

Re: Error signing into PowerApps Studio

view this thread to see the error I'm getting.. and to see who is saying that they solved the issue by turning on forms auth

The sign in page is being blocked by our ADFS it seems and thus I get this error message displayed in that thread. If we get off our domain network we can sign in ... at a loss as to what is misfiring ... tried investigating with Fiddler
