Converting Microsoft Form response to Word Doc

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to convert the output of a form into a word document. I have followed this process, but I only get html output and need the output to ordered down the document, not just as headers, as this will be signed off by Project Managers.

    Hi @mhills91,

It seems that you are trying to create a Word document with the response details of Microsoft Forms.

I have made the following flow for your reference.

It is triggered by When a new response is submitted.

Within the Apply to each, get response details from the form, then create HTML table with custom columns.

In the Create file action, select the output of Create HTML table for the File content field.

    A screenshot for your reference.

Please feel free reply if you need more help.

    Best regards,

    Hi @v-yamao-msft,

Unfortunatley an HTML output does not help me in this instance. The output I currently have is in the layout I need for the form.

Is it possible to go from the HTML table to a word document that retains the layout I need?

    Hi @mhills91,

    Thanks for updating.

I am afraid that it might be not possible to retain certain layout from the HTML table to a word document.

You may consider submitting a request on Flow Ideas Forum on this issue:

My answer was found by adding .doc at the end of create file.

    Hi!

Please read this article. It describes how to generate DOCX from Microsoft Forms submission and then convert it to PDF.

    All,

Filling out a Word Form is premium $$. Costs a superior Flow Plan.

Instead, is it possible to fill out a  form in .xlsx format using the responses from a MS form?

Now, I know all the responses can be viewed in an excel file. Instead, I am looking for a form template in excel format I have stored in one drive. I want a "Flow" that can fill out that excel template & save it as "responseid.xlsx"

    Possible?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Plumsail only works in Europe. The US is not available yet.

    Hi @cadone,

You can use the Plumsail Documents connector to do that. They have an article on their website on how to set up a flow to fill out an Excel template from Microsoft Forms responses:

How to create Excel and PDF documents from Microsoft Forms in Power Automate and Azure Logic Apps — Plumsail Documents Documentation

Now, I know you'd still have to pay for that, but it's totally worth it IMO. Really simple to set up. You can try it out for free too.
