Run a flow as another user

Hey there,

I have created a flow that creates new folders and copies files that are uploaded via a MSFT Form into one of these newly created folders, but I see that all these folders and copied files are created by me.

I would like these to be created by another account. Is this possible? Via connections?

Or would the only solution be to create the flow as that other account?

Cheers

    Hi @julienvdc

In case of instant cloud flow, you can configure the flow to run from a particular connection. It will applies to flows call from power app. If you are using automate flow then make a child flow which itself is an instant cloud flow and call it with the inputs to create an item in SharePoint site.

    Please follow the below instructions:

    1. In instant flow, go to the 'Run only users' setting as shown below:

    2. Next, scroll down to connection used section at the bottom:

here am using Office 365 group connector in your case it might be SharePoint.

    3. Next, choose use this connection option from the drop down:

    4. Finally, click ok and save.

Please try using the abovesaid steps & let me know in case of any issue.

    Hi @julienvdc

You could create a manual trigger flow (instant flow) with required input parameters to create file & folders in SP. Configure it to use only single user connection as mentioned in my last reply. Then call that child flow with required inputs from the automate flow trigger on form submit. You may give a try.

    Thanks

Hey @ManishSolanki but where would I specify the specific account I want to perform the create file & folders?

EDIT: My bad I guess that's what you've covered in red in your screenshot I guess.. 🙂

    Hi @julienvdc

You may find the setting 'Run only user' on the right bottom of flow details page but it applies to instant cloud flow (child flow). To configure a particular connection of instant cloud flow, pls refer to the steps mentioned in my first response.

    Thanks

    Hi @ManishSolanki!

So I've split my flow into a Solution of Parent and Child Flows (for each action). It runs 🙂

So now I am trying to modify the connection like you suggested, but I only see myself among the choices... How can I have this different account show up in the list?

    Hi @julienvdc

Pls add a new connection for SharePoint connector inside child flow. Once a new connection is created, it will be shown in the choices.
