Per App Plan Licensing Guidance

Hello experts!

I need your assistance to clarify some of the licensing terms for Power Apps per user plan and Per user/apps plan.

I'm a bit confused when it comes to these points.

Scenario 1 - Per App Plan: If I'm using a premium connector in two applications and I want to share both apps with 700 external users, how many licenses do I need for the 700 ? is it 700 x $10?

Scenario 2 - Per App Plan: If I'm using a premium connector in one application, and I want to share ONE app with 700 external users. How many licenses do I need for the 700? is it 350 x $10? or 700 x $10?

Scenario 3 - Per App Plan: If my tenant has O365 Business Basic, and I'm using a standard connector in an application, and I want to share it with 700 external users. How many O365 Business Basic do I need? Is it 700 licenses?

I hope you can help me out to understand how to proceed with each scenario.

I have seen this post but I want to make sure of the exact number of licenses I should purchase.

Thank you!!

    Hi @Julien2 ,

For the first two - any user that accesses a Premium connector directly in Power Apps needs a Per App Plan, so the answer would be 700 of whatever they needed for the number of apps shared.

If you want to add 700 users to your tenant (internal or external), you need at least a basic licence for each, unless you looked at Power Apps Portals.

    Hi @WarrenBelz,

For the first scenario, it's clear. However, for the second scenario If am sharing only one app with the 700 users why do I need 700 licenses since not all the Per-App plan licenses are consumed?
If I shared one app with the 700 then I think 350 licenses will be enough.

I found an example that explains it clearly, please find attached the image.
I will have a look at the Power Apps Portal that might be better for the external users.

    Thanks,

    Hi @Julien2 ,

Licensing is not "concurrent" - each user needs a licence, otherwise they cannot authenticate to Office365 and access the app.
