Hello, I have a favor to ask the community. I have an Excel file that contains 2 columns. "Abkürzung" which means initial in German and "Bedeutung" which means meaning. My aim is that with the Microsoft Copilot Studio software, in Teams I can integrate the Excel file and then if a user wants to know the meaning of an initial, the software will look it up in the Excel file and come up with the meaning. This saves the bot creator a lot of time by not having to handwrite the initials and meanings. Is this clear to you, and if so, how do I know if it's possible?
In fact, when I test it, it shows me directly in my channel on Teams, but when I want to activate my bot in my channel, it doesn't respond. Why is this?
I've already managed to work on my flow on Power Automate from Microsoft Teams. That's the first thing I've done, but the problem is that, according to the screenshot you can see, my flow works but when I test it by asking for initials, it doesn't return anything. Do you think you know why?
Hello
Regarding your message @Jcook, I've checked under AI feature and there's nothing that allows to load a file in Microsoft Copilot Studio from Teams unfortunately.
@theMac, I had already tried with Power Automate with your idea but I got error messages. I'd have to review my model again to get it to work again. But with your link, it might work.
Thank you both for your replies. I hope it works, but if it doesn't, I'll get back to you 😀
Unless there have been recent developments, Copilot's AI does not work well with structured data in tables while it is much better with unstructured data (text in word, pdf with a lot of text, etc.).
To do what you are asking, you can use copilot by calling up a flow of Power Automate, without bothering the AI: in Power Automate you will do the matching in the Excel file by providing the initials as input and it will return the corresponding string to copilot as output.
Please note that in excel the data must be structured in a table with headers in the first row (it is not enough to have entered them in a simple excel sheet)

Hello @Jcook
Thank you for your message, but in the "Settings" sidebar of my chatbot in Microsoft Teams, there is only :
There's no "Generative AI" in the settings, so no "Upload a document" (preview) and I searched for a while anyway.
Is there a particular reason for this?
Hi @AlwinV225
you can follow this guide from the docs:
