Re-Publish Copilot Every time once we Upload Files in SharePoint for Generative AI

Hi ,
 
I have a copilot with SharePoint as a Datasource for Generative AI.
Need an clarification if i modify or add more files in SharePoint do we need to republish the Copilot for each time.
 
Kindly help me on this.

    No, MCS handles indexing automatically for good and worse. When your Knowledge source is connected and Ready it is self-managed.

    However, I'm currently struggling with programmatically adding and removing Knowledge files and at least when Adding New files it will not let Published Copilots chat with the new data until the Bot is re-published... Currently looking for a way to also Publish it programmatically but not sure if it is possible yet.

    No, you do not need to republish your Copilot every time you modify or add files to the SharePoint data source. When using SharePoint as a data source for Generative AI in Copilot, the AI pulls information dynamically from the files in SharePoint. So, if you add or update files, Copilot will automatically reflect the new content during runtime.

    But, if you make structural changes to the Copilot like modifying the logic, dialogs, or any configuration within Copilot Studio, then republishing would be necessary.
