I am trying to figure out how to get Flow to replace the \n in the Description dynamic content with <br> so Outlook will recognize the line breaks. Please help.

Flow without any details:

From the output in the Select step.

Need to figure out somewhere somewhere in between Select and Apply CSS Style I need to place a "replace" expression that will replace the \n in the output in Select (or the dynamic content itself) with <br>

You can use the following formula to replace the \n.

    replace('textstring\n',decodeUriComponent('%0A'),'<br>')

'%0A' is the hexadecimal definition of \n

Tried this and it did not work. Should this be placed somewhere in particular?

Can you show me where you tried it?  Also, did you replace the literal 'textstring\n' that I had in the formula with the description field from your flow?

It may or may not work there, since that's all about referencing a column.  But in terms of the 'stringtext/n' that was just a placeholder in my code.  You need to replace that with whatever column you were putting in the data select statement at that point.

Yes this works 100%. Still I don't understand such a difficulty...

This solved my issue finally, this was my problem '%0A' is the hexadecimal definition of \n

because despite the new designer is showing my outputs correctly with the line, the raw output is still in HTML form.

So on my case code looks like this:

    (inside a compose action)

    replace(body('Get_item')?['Notes_x002f_Comments'],decodeUriComponent('%0A'),'<br>')

    thank you!!
