I will suggest you to take a form or you can take dropdowns for Asset name, Serial number and to whom you want to assign and then you can add functionality on Assign button like submit form and when dropdown taken then patch that dropdowns. So it will easy for you.
On Assign button - Navigate function you can apply and add form there to submit.
This is easy trick and helpful for you.
