Adding a Button Control--Would not Add over a Label Control or Rectangle

Strangest problem trying to a button to a form. Don't know if this had anything to do turning off "Scales to Fit" but I could not add a button either on top of a rectangle or label. The button just went to the side and even when I click on the control name and could see the outline of the button, the button would disappear once I put the mouse on it. The same thing happened when I tried to put an Icon on the rectangle. The icon simply went to the left side of the rectangle control.

    Hi @sonisick - Can you share a screenshot of your app in edit mode, including the expanded tree of controls on the left hand side?

    @sonisick

    1. I don't think it has to do with it, but in case, turn Scale To Fit back on to check if it still happens.

    2. Is this on the placement of the control inside of a DataCard?

    3. Can you try reorder the element that is behind everything else, to be in front of, rather than behind, the other element if the fact that it is behind is what is the problem? You can do this by selecting the element from Tree view, clicking Ellipses, then clicking Reorder, then clicking either Bring to Front or Bring Forward to see if it works. When using Bring Forward, this brings it forward one level, so you may need to Bring Forward more than once.

    @sonisick

    In your screenshot, the Button is behind the Label. Please try my suggestion #3 from my response, on Button1. This should bring it to the front of the Label and it should make it appear and not be obscured by it. Check if it helps.

    Hi @sonisick - I think this is due to the use of Containers.

    If you want the Button to go in front of your header label, try selecting 'Screen1' in the tree and then insert your button. You should then be able to drag your button on top of the header as it is not then governed by the container layer, i.e. it is up at the screen level, above the containers.

    Note the button will then not behave responsively, but this may not be an issue for you

    Hope this helps - Good Luck!

    Thanks for the suggestion--but no cigar yet. The Button isn't moveable.

    Can you show the Controls tree view again after you have tried with my recommendation?

    You need to select the screen, not the top level container

    Your button is inside the top level container.

    Select the screen in the tree view, then insert the button
