Send email when data changes in Power BI

ReportReport

Hello. I have a Power BI report with a table that has multiple fields. Every time the table  refreshes with new data, I want an email notification to go out. The table includes the email address of whom the email is supposed to go out to, along with other data I want to include in the message. For example, the table could refresh and add three new lines of data. I would want three emails to go out. Is this possible?

It is possible, but a little involved.

    1. Create a Power BI report with a table visual filtered to show your 3 new rows of data and any columns with data you'll need with your email (email address, dates, description, etc.).
    2. From Performance Analyzer, copy the query behind that table visual
    3. Publish your report and set up scheduled refresh at the desired frequency
    4. Create a paginated report with your published dataset as the Datasource and the DAX query you copied above as the Dataset
    5. Make a simple table visual in the paginated report with those same fields
    6. Publish the paginated report and subscribe to it at the desired frequency.  Add a unique text string (e.g., hashtag) to the Subject line of the subscription email.  Choose csv file type.
    7. Trigger a flow off that email, parse the CSV attachment and send your emails with an apply to each

I have been planning to make a video on this topic and wish I had already, so I could just reference it here.
