Start an approval - Remove task assigned to a user for an SharePoint item

Hi,

I have a requirement in which when a user sets a field to cancelled, the flow should teminate and the associated task assigned to an approver by "Start an approval" action should be removed. The first part was achieved successfully but I am not able to find any way as such to access (or remove) the tasks assigned to the approver by MS flow.

Please assist whether this can be achieved using rest call or by using a connector/action in the flow.

Regards,

Nishant

    Hi @nkverma,

I beleive, but I was not testing it yet, that this should be reachable when you select correct Approval type. As if you choose Each member of list of approvars, than when one of such list cancell others will not see approval notification. But if you choose Any member of list of approvars then it will wait untill all will cancel or at least one will approve.

    Thanks for the reply @vecerpa.

We are using Any member of list of approvers.

We are using parallel action to check the staus field in the list. If the user sets the field as cancelled, the parallel action end the flow while the "Start an approval" action is still waiting for the approval.

However the task assigned to the approver is still present in the Approval task list in flow site. We want that to be removed as well. The mail sent out by "Start an Approval" action can be ignored in this case.

Is this possible using rest or a connector/action in MS flows?

    Hi @nkverma,

My understanding for your scenario is that you triggered a flow with the action Start an approval, however, without getting the response from the approver, you cancelled the flow on the flow site, but the action is still waiting for approval, and the approval remains in the Approvals page. In this situation, you cannot delete or do the following actions. Then you want to recall the approval task in the flow site, and the approval email as well.

If yes, I have to say it is currently not supported by Flow, I haven’t seen an available action can be used. If possible, please submit a request on Flow Ideas Forum for this issue:

    Hi @nkverma,

So in your scenario as @v-yamao-msft wrote there is no option to handle approval or (modern approval as it was called in preview state). I saw some ideas that are already suggesting such option like, so you can vote em up:

    https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/Create-a-way-to-remove-approval-cards-in-pending-send-requests/idi-p/112630

My question to @v-yamao-msft is if there is some roadmap for approval service, what is currently being palnned to move to production state??
