I'm currently working on a Power Automate solution for a project. The task at hand involves using the "Populate a Microsoft Word template" action from the Word Online (Business) connector to generate a document.
When I make modifications to the template document stored in the SharePoint document library, these changes aren't reflected when the document is processed by the "Populate a Microsoft Word template" action.
seems like a cache issue but any insight on how to resolve would be appreciated. I'm stuck .. Thanks
HI, I figured out the issue. I reference the word template by file ID using environmental variables. When I migrated the template from our dev site to qa and then prod within our 3 different SharePoint sites. It changed the file id , and it must still be loading the old template by that ID even though I deleted the old template and removed it from recycle bin. It was obvious now. I need to figure out best way to version and migrate changes to our word template from DEV/QA/PROD and best way to get that file reference , keeping in mind we have the three environments with three different SharePoint site that contain the word template. Thanks for getting back to me ... Still very new to this platform .
@Fillmord may i know what type of changes are you making the template, here is a little similar post https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Power-Automate/Populate-a-microsoft-word-template-New-field-not-shown-on/td-p/1345377
