basecamp 3 sample app configuration asks for basecamp data in confusing manner, does not work

When I try to set up the simple flow based on a listed trigger called "Basecamp 3, When a document is created", I get asked to fill in three fields:

  • Account ID
  • Basecamp
  • Vault (folder)

The flow insists that the basecamp ID needs to be a number, but even when I type in the number from my basecamp account, it does not accept it.

The field basecamp is not clear: Is that a title? A number, if so, what number? A URL?

The Vault (folder) is the one that throws the error (Unable to parse basecamp ID, please check the value provided and ensure it is a numeric ID)

Did anyone solve this puzzle?

    Hi,

You do not need to manually input value in the Account ID field, you only need to click on the arrow on the right side:

Then the associated account id will show in the drop down list.

As Mona suggested the best way to specify the values is by using the dropdowns which should show the display names of the Account, Basecamp, etc. and handle the IDs for you.

If you're not seeing the expected values in the dropdown you could also specify the IDs yourself using the "Enter Custom Value" option in the dropdown. These IDs can be found in the URLs you see when broswing Basecamp (such as the values below).

    Hope that helps!

Thank you, that helps, but HOW does this flow have access to this without me giving my credentials. Is that just because I once allowed flow to access this?

Hi @Anonymous - if you've previously created a connection to Basecamp or other sources in Flow it will be reused in your operations unless it's removed. You can change a connection or create a new one directly from the Designer on the top left of an operation (see below) or on your Connections page.

More details on connections can be found here: https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/add-manage-connections/
