Azure Open AI and license

Posted on by

Hi,

I am planning to use "Azure OpenAI on your data" with Power Virtual Agents.

1, Is there any region restriction? The link is not about "on your data" but it says the bot must be created in US region.

For using my data in Azure OpenAI, Power Virtual Agent is created in US and other resources such as blob storage needs to be in US as well?

2, I want to add the bot in my application so that end users can ask any question. Do end users need to have a license?

As far as the prerequisite says, I believe the end users do not need to have a power platform license. But I would like to get a confirmation before proceeding.

    Hi @ty05

PVA licensing is capacity based: it's free for the bot author (they need a $0 PVA User license simply to access the portal without having to start a trial). PVA add-ons for the volume of conversations are purchased and added to the tenant.

For Azure OpenAI / Azure Cognitive Search / Azure Storage Account, I believe that it works as well even across regions, as long as the PVA environment is in the US.
