Good Day folks,
 
I'm a beginner in power apps, and currently working on building an app at work, and have been following the best practices doc for making an app. I'm making multiple components for header, footers, gallery's etc. I am building a component which will be a comment box, so, user can type and post new comments, and see the old comments. I am using Dataverse to store comments and will be using gallery to show old and new comments, Input text canvas to write new comments, and label to post comments. Now I am having issues writing the fx formula, I am using the Patch function to post comments in gallery.  I know I have to make custom properties to achieve this as components does not connect to Dataverse. Can someone guide me through the process?

    Hi,
     
    It is a Canvas App component and I am using an event as my custom property to post comments to my Dataverse table and display comments in a gallery. I am using Patch function to post comments, but it won't recognize my Dataverse table. I have refreshed it, and tried recreating the custom property, but no luck.

    Hi
     
    What type of component is it? A Canvas App Component, or a custom sdk component?
     
    Each of those can trigger Actions/Events.
     
    You could have a button in the Component that would trigger an Event
    An Event is when you want to pass data to the "App" outside of the component
    Then in your Even, on the App Side, you would save it.
