the adaptive card is not showing in outlook but is showing in teams

I am trying to send an adaptive card using power automate, and sending it to outlook.  I followed all the instructions online but when I get the email it's a blank email.  I tried the same json and sent it to teams, and it shows up there.  I have also tried registering the actionable messages added the providerid in the json but it still didn't work.   Not sure what else to think of besides maybe my org does not allow sending adaptive cards?

    Hi @bpw

Are you able to view the card in outlook web or mobile?

Please can you check that, it could be an issue with your outlook build.

@nitishsh91 no I can’t see it on desktop, browser or mobile.  I can only see it in teams.  Any suggestions to look into?

Please can you validate this and see if it helps:

    Organization Control for Actionable Messages

The Exchange Online organization configuration contains a setting (SmtpActionableMessagesEnabled) to control the use of “action buttons.” The default is True, meaning that email clients allow users to respond to buttons inserted in email by Microsoft 365 applications. If you wanted, you can run Set-OrganizationConfig to set the value to False to disable actionable messages.

    Set-OrganizationConfig –SmtpActionableMessagesEnabled $False

I can’t think of a good reason to disable actionable messages, but you never know when the need might arise. That’s I can’t think of a good reason to disable actionable messages, but you never know when the need might arise. That’s the joy of discovering poorly documented parts of Microsoft 365, just like finding out why Teams missed activity messages won’t work when you switch to use a guest account in another tenant.

@nitishsh91 Thanks for this info.  So this has to be done by the exchange admin correct?  Is this a per user setting or global setting for the org?

Yes it needs to be checked with exchange admin first and will be applicable to full organisation or your tenant alone but it won’t be at user level as per my understanding but exchange admin would be in a better place to answer on this.
