i have a form that users provide responses to a small number of questions. It's been working fine for 8 months with a minor date issue that I have resolved, but now suddenly the SubmitForm command no longer works.

The responses are saved to an excel file on OneDrive connector. I have fewer than 1000 rows and Ive set the max to 2000 rows on the app settings. I'm getting an "unknown error" flag and the only thing underlined in the formula is the SubmitForm (Form1_2) command. HELP!

Is it possible the document location was changed or permissions changed?

is there a change that 2 or more persons use the app at the same time or that excel file is opened by anyone in edit mode? if yes, in this case excel file is locked for some powerapps users.

if none of that, i have no other ideas.

No. I am the owner of the document and the admin so no one else can change permissions.

Multiple people very well may use the app at the same time, but that hasn't been an issue yet. I have it displayed as "closed for maintenance" now so no one can access it but me and it's still failing.

@RandyHayes You've been my savior on this in the past...any insight?

If multiple people try to submit items at same time to an excel file through powerapps you will receive an error. It's really not a great datasource for PowerApps in a multiple user situation. HOWEVER it's been about 2 years since I used excel, transferred over to SP to get past the multiple user error, but I do not think that is the error it gave for that situation.

I would recommend sharing with us the code from your onsubmit, as well as a screenshot of the form. Without seeing your code everyone would just be throwing out guesses

Here's the app. I also ran the monitor and the only seemingly strange thing I see is that it says "read only" on the returned records. I have never made the file read only but this is very new to me so I don't know if that's an issue or normal.

You mentioned Read-Only is being mentioned in the return. I would open up the excel file directly in your browser and see if it is being displayed as read only there as well. I do remember it would occasionally glitch and not unlock after bein accessed by an ipad and get stuck in read only mode. I cannot recall how I would force it back out, but remember there being something I could do. Basically anytime one Ipad's powerapp contacts the excel file and begins an edit it gets locked down as excel cannot only accept one edit at a time. Once the edit is complete and submitted it is supposed to unlock. But every once in a blue moon it would not and I would have to go into the file and force unlock it. It became way more of a hassle than it was worth for my operation (had 50 or 60 entries a day from half a dozen employees) so I switched to SharePoint. So I would check the excel file first, then get back to us here.

I downloaded the file because it said locked by another user. I deleted the file from OneDrive and the connector from the app. I made sure the file was NOT read only, uploaded it back to OneDrive and reconnected it and I am getting the same error and the same thing in the monitor. 😞

Is it still showing as locked as well? Or is that error gone now at least. Once you have reuploaded the file sometimes you will need to completely remove the datasource from powerapps, save, then go through the complete readd process. No idea why but this sometimes fixes errors if the datasource has been changed in any way. Just curious, while we are here, is there a particular reason you are using Excel over SP?
