Create Outlook folders based on the recipient email address

Hi all,

I have a catchall email set up. For those who are not familiar with this concept, emails sent to any email address under my domain get delivered to a shared mailbox. E;g. if you send an email to contact@mydomain.com or zfezfz@mydomain.com, your email will land in the same mailbox.

I'm using this system for online accounts and subscriptions, as it would allow me to create an online account on the fly (e.g. If I want to sign up to strava, I'd sign up using strava@mydomain.com). I'm avoiding to use one email address everywhere, as this allows me to know whether a website is sharing my email address with third parties without my consent (e.g. If I receive Spam on strava@domain.com, I'll know the Spam originated from my Strava account).

My goal is to build flows that would eventually create a new folder when a new recipient email is used (if I receive an email to strava@mydomain.com, the script would create a "strava" folder if that folder doesn't already exist), and then move received emails to the correct folders.

Have any of you done this before?

Can you provide guidance on how to build these flows?

Thank you!

Jad

Have a look at this: https://ivasoft.com/sortaliasessharedflow.shtml

You can use this flow as a base and modify it according your needs.

    Thank you Victor.
The project you pointed to seems to tackle the issue. However, their solution costs $150.
I suppose there is lots of custom development behind it.
I'm curious to see if there is an open source solution someone could point me to it.
I'll keep this thread open for an additional week or two, and accept your reply as a solution if I don't receive a free alternative.

    Thank you!
    Jad
