Trigger password reset manually

Hi Experts (posted this question in the powerpages community as well, if you would like to answer there)

In Portals, Does any one found a way to trigger password reset via some workflow/flow/code ? Basically we want the call centre team to provide functionality to send a password reset email to some customers?

I found the "send password reset to contact" but I didn't find a way to trigger it. Any body any thoughts on how to trigger this?

Thank you

-Srikanth

    Megan described that already 😉

Disable the process that sends them, edit the properties, and start the process with a button or other trigger.

I saw that, the problem for me is -how to trigger that action automatically.. I want the call centre guys click a button, which would "somehow" magically triggers the action and send that email. I'm fine with the email it is sending, I just need a way to trigger that action not from the portal but from CRM.

    Hope that makes sense.

You can have a button on a model driven app that triggers that action, or a plugin that triggers it. That's up to you. Some javascript in case of a model driven app, or a button with power automate in case of a canvas app 😉

That's the problem, that action requires some input arguments and those are the same arguments i'm also looking after..

Seems like Microsoft is passing those arguments from code behind of aspx pages and the logic is shield for us..

    thank you

In here a similar case, here the author has modified the screen to display an email input field.
You can use this to have someone send a forgot password link to a specific user.
