Hello,

I wanted to ask if can I use "when an item is created or modified" in the middle of the flow.

Actually, I have created a multilevel flow of task assignments. for example 5 stages.. Now when flow reaches to 3rd stage. I want to update the item fill out some remaining fields and want to reflect that field in 4th stage. So is it possible to use "when an item is created or modified" is between stage 3 and stage 4

    Hi @jay_mangukia

You should not but it is possible. and the reasons are too many to explain. We solve the issue of people doing it every week

I would create a second workflow that takes over at this (4th) stage. You would use the trigger When an item is modified and add trigger conditions so it only triggers when the fields from the third stage are populated. In the trigger you will need to include a value that you can set in stage 4 so that if the item is modified, it doesn't trigger the workflow again. For example, you could add a field Stage 3 Completed that is a yes/no field with the default of no. When the stage 4 workflow runs it would set stage 3 completed to yes.

This will also help to extend your approval process since you have all of your approvals in the same workflow. By breaking out the approvals into multiple flows, it will effectively extend the limit.

    Hey @jay_mangukia -

A quick tip here - You should use

“Get changes to an item or file (properties only)” action in the middle of Flow and based on condition action on further steps.

Yes, that is the correct trigger. To get to the trigger conditions, click the three dots at the top right and choose settings. You can then add the trigger conditions based on your requirements.
