Automatic Sequence number in SharePoint based on some field value

Hello Experts,

I want to know how can i achieve it. I have a requirement like when I select Project Type the Project Number should increase by 1 in sequence. Refer screenshot below.

Please help me in achieving this as I haven't found anything to work this way. Thanks Thanks Thanks in advance.

    @CoolBoyAnurag - here is the concept - trigger on item creation > count items with current status > build prefix > concat values to build Project Number format. Give below a try. I know I didn't add logic for in between zeros but give this a try first and we can look into adding zeroes.

    @CoolBoyAnurag or I just thought of another option where the next project number for each type will be maintained in a separate list and update the main list with that value. I am off to bed now but can look at it tomorrow if you need help.
