Get first email address from list of items

I am running a scheduled flow to get items from a SPlist which includes a people picker column. How can I pull the first email address from all the items it collects that match my query to use as a send to for an email?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello @Anonymous

    I might need more information.

    Try using the first() expression.

    The syntax will be:

    first(<DynamicContent)?[‘columnname’]

    I'm confused about your bracketing? The column is "Reserved By", what would I put for the dynamic content? The value of the get items?

    Yes that is correct. Use the value from your get items. Then you want to add ?[‘Reserved By’] to the end

    ? = looking for a value that is present or null

    [ ] = the column name you want to find

    So I think I got it except the email address comes along with extra information as shown. My output of the email ends up being blank because of this?

    Oh wow, that is weird.

    Copy that value from your variable.

    Now use a parse JSON action below your variable. Pass in the variable, and click generate schema from example,

    this is where you paste the copied value from your variable.

    Now you should be able to use dynamic content from parse JSON that has just the email address
