Why is Sharepoint's version history for changes to a list item lying to me?

Please excuse if I'm wrong - but over at this forum: Wieso zeigt Sharepoint Online Listenelemte falsche Angaben - Microsoft Community someone sent me here.

I did create a list in Sharepoint.

I created an item and did select "Automate"->"Request signature" so send this item into the standard (!?!?!) workflow. (Please note: menu items may not be correct as I'm using the German version).

The version history of this item now say that on June 20, at 8:20 AM I did set the field "Status signature" to "Approved" (screenshot in attachment - but in German).

Below is the textual/manually translated representation

But this is not true! The last change that I made was on June 20, 6:02 PM - when I did start the approval workflow. And the guy I did address did approve on June, 21, 08:21 AM (I have an email as a prove)

To me this means: Sharepoint is lying - or I'm too dumb. What is your take on that - i.e. what do I have to do so that I can see what really did happen?

@WarpinWolf can you check your in your SharePoint Site Settings -> Regional Settings, what timezone is configured in the SharePoint site, the SharePoint site shows the date and time as per the timezone configured in regional settings, so it could be that your timezone and SharePoint Time zone might not be the same, that may be the reason you are seeing different time.

Hi Anna,
thanks for pointing that out - indeed the site settings show PST (UTC-8) whereas I'm actually in UTC+1 - which

* makes things more complicated - as between those timezones the differnce is 9h - and I'm experiencing differences of 14:19h
* does not explain the fact that WarpinWolf is mentioned as the last one who changed whereas xxxx did actually approve.

I changed the timezone now. Now SP is claiming I did that last change to the item on June 20, 5:20 PM - and yes - we do have DST available in Europe - still - but I'd expect that Timezone = "Europe/Berlin" would take care of that.
