Hi

I have trying to export power bi file to .png format and sending it in mail body in recurrence mode. More specifically I need to send the specific visual as image in email body however if someone can help in sending at least full file by email that would also be of great help

    Hi @AGYG ,

Here's the easy route:  you can use Power Automate Desktop and take a picture of the entire desktop (assumes you have the dashboard up in your browser) and then save that image to OneDrive or SharePoint, then email it.

Another option is to take a picture of a webpage, same thing.  In both options, you can even focus on the visual you want (not the entire dashboard), and then take your picture, save, and email.  This does work great.

    Hi @AGYG ,

There are two options to send inline images with a send email (V2) action, both tested and work in my test flow.  The format is slightly different with each storage location.

    trice602_0-1697598460659.png

    On the left side (OneDrive)

    The compose is:

    dataUri(body('Get_file_content_using_path_2'))

And then notice how this is formatted in the email body.

    On the right side (SharePoint)

    The compose is:

    @{outputs('Get_file_content_using_path')?['body']['$content']}

And then notice how this is formatted in the email body.

    ----------------------

To take a screenshot with Power Automate Desktop, you can call this from a cloud flow using Desktop flow action in attended or unattended flow types.  In either case, you would go to the Power BI dashboard URL, take a picture, save it, then return to your cloud flow and complete the email.

    Hi @trice602

Thanks. This seems easy solution. Want to know your view of export to file from power bi action. So when I need to send the whole bi file as .png this may be the easier option.

    Hi @AGYG ,

Yes, this is the easy route.  Please mark as a solution so others can find this too!  This is a FAQ.
