Office 365 Outlook 'When a new event is created (V3)' trigger is not working logically with a resource calendar

Raised a MSFT support case on this (120010721002064), but got told this is working as designed, but please post here.

Use case:

Want to use Flow to send an email to any colleague who books a particular room in our office.  The room is an Office 365 (room) resource calendar.  Flow consists of 'When a new event is created (V3)' trigger followed by 'Send an email (V2)' step.

The issue is that the 'when a new event is created (V3)' trigger always sets the organiser of the calendar event to the owner of the resource calendar and not to the identity of the colleague booking the resource.

So my idea is to change the trigger so that for resource calendars the 'organiser' is the booker and not the owner of the room OR make the booker identity data available in another dynamic parameter

For additional information, if you direct this Flow to a regular calendar the trigger works correctly in that the organiser dynamic content is set to the sender of the appointment.  So inconsistent behaviour.

thanks

    Hi @Gareth- ,

Your requirement couldn't be achieved since the Created by of the event would always be the connection account of the trigger in microsoft flow currently.

    Best regards,

This is not currently a functionality of the Office 365 Connector. If this is a feature that you feel should be added, please consider submitting it to the Power Automate Ideas.

In the interim, you may be able to utilize the event resource type within Graph API to query the resource owner's identity. For more information see this Calling Graph API From Power Automate Flow blog post.
