Scheduled Maintenance Requests

We have a old SharePoint Designer flow that schedules the regular maintenance activities around our workplace, I am trying to recreate it in Power Automate but am getting stuck with the expression to add the period of time to an existing field, based on the scheduling frequency.

I believe all I need to do is use switches with multiple cases to represent the frequency, I just can't quite figure out the expression.

I know I can add days via an expression like - addDays(utcNow(),30) or addDays(utcNow(),7) however I want to be able to do it on the field date received ['body/Date_x0020_Received'] I am also wondering if there is a way to make it work with varying frequencies

Ones in our old list are as follows - daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, 6 monthly, annually and bi-annually

Thanks in advance any assistance that can be offered.

    Hi JaradM,

So the trigger of the Power Automate is Recurrence. With the frequency column. Do not you think there is a need for one more date column? to handle when the last notification is dispatched.

    • When the frequency is daily, no need to check anything else just drop a reminder as the Power Automate is running on a daily basis.
    • When the frequency is weekly then check the date check and then send the notification...

If I answer your question then please mark it as verified.

Let me know if I can provide you with more details.

    Thanks

I didn't initially go off a recurrence as the trigger should occur when the item is set to close, so I used the Created or Modified. The example image I provided was of a test environment with what I considered the bare necessities for the test. The actual has the following within:

My thought process was to just run a condition if Status Value = Closed and Scheduling Frequency is not equal to None then go to a few different switches that has the varying the frequency and the date received value has an expression to use the previous date received +1 day for daily or 7 days for weekly etc

I figure the rest of the values will be pretty easy to get once I can figure out the expression, am open to other approaches as well.

    Regards,

    Jarad

    Hi JaradM,

You should need the condition addDays(item()?['maa_duedaysfirstupload'],freequency)

Thanks for that, it worked. Not sure if my approach was ideal as the Add Days doesn't quite work with quarters (not always 90 days etc and so on for months) but it is a starting point. Thank you Abdul for your help.

    Kind regards,

    Jarad
