Gallery selection auto resets to the first row of the gallery after submitting the form

Hello All,

I have an issue the gallery selection and submitform.

Background: I have a gallery and a form. I select an item in the gallery, then the screen will navigate to a new screen to edit aform which is filtered by the gallery selection.

Issue: After editing and submitting the form, the gallery selection reset to select the first item in the gallery automatically .  It fails to keep the current gallery selection.

Two weeks ago, it worked fine. I discovered this issue on Jan 18.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hi @Anonymous,

I just created an app similar to what you described. And I cannot reproduce your issue. Here is the settings in my app:

I created an auto-generated app using SharePoint list connection. Change the OnSelect property of the narrow inside gallery control to:

    Navigate(EditScreen1, ScreenTransition.None)

I inserted a Label control below BrowseGallery1, and set its Text property to:

    BrowseGallery1.Selected.Title

Just to show what is the selected item after navigating back to Gallery screen.

After editing the 3rd item in gallery by changing its Title from "13" to "222", the Label control still shows the item I edited in EditForm as the selected item.

Please check if there is any difference between your app and mine. Hope this could help.

    Regards,

    Mona

    Hello Mona,

Thank you for the solution. However, it does not reproduce the issue I have. You can reproduce the issue by the following steps:

    1. Create a list which has three columns: project lead, project name, and success factor in SharePoint. You will create a form to edit the success factor in the application.

    2. Create a "project lead" gallery which you can pick the project lead.

    3. Create a "project name" gallery which you can pick the project name based on the selection in the project lead.

    4. Choose the project name. Then, you create a form which edits the success factor. After the form submission, the project name is reset to the first item in the "project lead" gallery.

    Thank you,

    Quan

Curiosity had me.  I had to see if I could reproduce it.

I built a sample app just like you mentioned.  I ran into a couple of grey areas because you did not describe the mechanics of it fully. So, I made some assumptions.

Here is what it looks like and listed are any (and all - no other actions, or properties were changed) settings for the galleries, form and buttons.

Result - I did NOT see the issue you are having.  So, perhaps you have something in an action or other property that is impacting your situation?

    @v-monli-msft @RandyHayes I am facing similar issue.

I have form whose item property is Gallery.Selected

but unfortunately when i try to navigate to form it first loads the correct data but within sconds it sutomaticaaly refreshes data and set it to first item of the gallery.

    Please help.

    Thanks in Advance
