Flow condition if value null then email

Hi,

New to the Power Automate community here so probably doing something glaringly stupid. However, we're setting up a recognition scheme at work where people are able to nominate others to be recognised for outstanding work etc.

The users will fill out a simple form where the enter the email address of the user they'd like to nominate, however just want to add a safety measure if someone enters an incorrect email address. I'm using the 'Search for users v2' function' to look up the users. I'm generating an email to the user if the email address is correct, which appears to be working when entering a correct email address.

However, when adding an incorrect email address the flow fails, when I would hope it would email the requester to say that they've entered the incorrect email address.

Here's what I've got so far, pretty simple.

Here's the error in run history:

Any help hugely appreciated.

Try using the coalesce expression - this expression returns the first non-null value which effectively allow you to provide a default value.

Your expression might look like this: coalesce({column ref from dynamic properties},'Not Found')

Your condition can check for Not Found in my example.  If it finds Not Found then you know the address is invalid.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

You could use length() function to check if the output of Search for user acton is null.

Ah, it's now working - thankyou! I had the next steps in a separate 'For each'. Moved the condition into the same for each and now working as expected.

Thanks so much for your help.
