MS Form response update SharePoint List with 3 lookup columns

I have 4 SharePoint lists (1-Main List and the other 3 are used for the lookup columns in the main list).  I created an MS Form with 3 drop-down fields with the data related to the columns in the list.  In the Flow that I created to obtain the responses from the form just by trying the first column, then I tried to implement those same actions for the last two lookup columns, (straight up and down the hierarchy, then I tried the branching, but I'm still unable to populate the other two columns.

I hope someone can help me figure out where I am going wrong:

Sorry, but I am not clear on what you are trying to do.

Are you trying to update the lookup lists based on the Form response?

Are you trying to update the main list and the lookups?

I am trying to update the main list on which the form is based.  The main list has 3 lookup columns.  When I initially created the form by just selecting the fields from the form(add dynamic content) and matching them to the SharePoint List fields, I received an error.  When I was searching through how to correct the issue, I implemented the steps just for the first column, which worked....but I am not sure how to implement the steps for the other two columns.

Once the flow is completed, this is the update to the main list in sharepoint

Here is how you might approach this issue.  You'll need to find the values in each of the lookup lists and save the ID of the list item.  This is because when you update the main list, you'll need the IDs to supplky to the lookup columns.

First, have 3 get items actions

Each Get items action should use a filter query so that only the row that matches the value form Forms will be returned.

Save the IDs in Compose actions or variables

Then, have a single Create item action.  Use the values saved in the compose actions or variables for the lookup columns.

I am uncertain where I am going wrong...After searching and reading different scenarios, I've gotten myself more confused...some say use Compose, some say use Filter....I'm loss more now then before...

After doing more research on how to accomplish the recommendation above, this is my finalized steps:

What I realized during the process was making sure to declare my variable prior to calling for the SharePoint list that contains the lookup list for the data (instead of using the branch method).  Also, using the Compose method was easier for me, and using the function step to convert the data that was coming back to integer when setting my variable values.

I hope I can help someone who may have had or will have an issue like mines because the majority of the help info that is out there was for only one lookup list in SharePoint or the lookup List had the data that was being looked up in that one table.

    Hi @flebby

I'm trying to do something similar (if not, the same thing) and hope you are able to help me. Can you, please, expand your final screenshot to show the asking parameters for (from top to bottom):
    • Initialize variable
    • Get items
    • For each
    • For each 3
    • Create item
This should be enough to give me a better idea of how to set mine up. I'm looking for the parameters from the edit flow screen, not the return code once everything has ran. And, only if its possible for you, can you screenshot a larger/clearer image, please? As it is now, the screenshot requires me to zoom in and is very fuzzy.

The 3 questions in my form that should translate to the lookup columns are choices/dropdowns. Are any of your questions set up the same? If so, were there any issues getting the choices to translate to the lookup column? I ask because I'm wondering if my form's questions need to be choices or text input for the lookup column to accept it.
