I have made a test on my side and don't have the issue that you mentioend, the Table markdown works well on my side.
Please make a test on a simple table markdown on your side to see if it works, you could refer to link below:

And you could take a try with the example:
| Heading 1 | Heading 2 | Heading 3 |
|-----------|:-----------:|-----------:|
| Cell A1 | Cell A2 | Cell A3 |
| Cell B1 | Cell B2 | Cell B3<br/>second line of text |
Or you could share the cold in the Details with us so we could make a test to find your problems.
