Send a mail only when the first file is uploaded to a sharepoint folder

Hello everyone,

pretty newbie to power automate here.

I would like to send an email when a folder is filled by a user.

I am able to send a mail for every file created, but i get tons of mails.

Is there a way to send only one mail for the first file uploaded?

Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

So you've created a folder, and, you only want one notification when the first item is added to it, right?

Or, is it a case where someone else creates a folder and starts filling it with content?

If the latter, it is much easier, so I thought I'd check first 🙂

    Hi,

the folder structure is already created by me.

I need a notification when someone fills a folder.

Unfortunately it's the first case 🙂

Haha okay.  This should get you what you need:

When your flow is triggered ("when a new item is created"), the first thing you'll do is "Get Files" using the Folder Path from the trigger's dynamic content. Then, you're just going to use the length() expressions to see how many there are.

If there is 1 file, it will send an email. If there is more than one, it will not.

I had tried that way, but the problem is if you upload 3 files at the same time the lenght is 3 for all the 3 flows

Maybe i can add a condition.

Retrieve mail messages -> if object has fullpath & time <1h do nothing

otherwise send mail with fullpath in object.

    I'll try later

    thanks btw

Oh I see, that is more difficult. How many different folders are we talking about?

    There are about hundred folders.

I'm trying with a different approach

I added folderpath in the subject of the mail, to filter it out, but the get mail does not return me anything

    Any idea?
