Its not easy to help as you didn't share anything.

I have to assume as there is no information about your flow, or images, that Word either got installed in a different place, is somehow not setup to be launch (like if you look in Task manager is it there and possibly an instance is locked and you need to End them and then try to run again)

But please make sure to share details so we can try to diagnose the problem.

Try to open the word from terminal/powershell and then use attach to word.

So use "Run PowerShell script" -action and code to run "start winword" to start blank word. If you want to launch certain word file add file path at the end like so: start winword "C:\Path\To\Your\File.docx"

Then use Attach to running Word

As  instructed give as much information as you can about the situation like screenshots, error messages, what action goes to error etc.
Does the word still launch on your machine but the flow fails or does the flow fail without word opening at all?

    1. Check if Word is Installed Properly

    • Try manually launching Word. Does it open without issues?

    • Try creating a new blank document manually. If it crashes or hangs, the issue is with Word itself.

    Fix:

    • Repair Microsoft Office:

      • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features

      • Select Microsoft Office > Click Change > Select Quick Repair, then Online Repair if needed

    2. Update Everything

Make sure all components are up to date:

    • Power Automate Desktop (latest version)

    • Microsoft Office / Word

    • Windows Updates

    • Restart your machine after updates.

    3. Check Your PAD Flow

If Excel launches but Word doesn't, the issue might be in your PAD script.

    Test with Simple Flow:

    Create a minimal PAD flow:

Does Word launch with this flow?

    4. Run PAD as Administrator

    Sometimes Word requires elevated permissions.

    • Right-click PAD shortcut > Run as Administrator

    Then re-run the flow.

    5. Word COM Add-ins or Startup Templates May Be Blocking

Corrupt Normal.dotm or problematic Add-ins can prevent automation.

    Fix:

    Also disable COM Add-ins:

    6. Check Office Licensing

If Word is not activated properly, automation can silently fail.

    • Open Word manually and confirm it's activated (Account > Product Info).

    7. Recreate the Word Automation Actions

    Sometimes PAD flows get corrupted.

    8. Event Viewer Logs

Check logs to diagnose Word crashes:

This can tell you if Word is crashing silently.

    9. Reinstall Power Automate Desktop (last resort)

    • Uninstall PAD

    • Reboot

    • Download the latest version from Microsoft and reinstall

    1. Add Launch Word action (no parameters).

    2. Add Display Message to confirm flow continues.

    Close Word.
    1. Go to:C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates

      Rename Normal.dotm to Normal.old

    2. Re-launch PAD and try again.

If I have answered your question, please mark it as the preferred solution ✅ . If you like my response, please give it a Thumbs Up 👍.
    Regards,
    Riyaz
    • Open Word manually

    • File > Options > Add-ins > Manage: COM Add-ins > Go…

    • Uncheck everything and test

    • Delete and reinsert the Launch Word and related actions.

    • Save the flow under a new name.

    • Press Windows + R > type eventvwr

    • Go to Windows Logs > Application

    • Look for errors related to WINWORD.EXE
