Can't add PDF viewer control to a container.

I can't add a PDF viewer control to a container. I've tried adding within the container and also copy and paste. Is there any reason why we can't do this? It's kind of messing up the layout of my app. I've had to fudge it by using a formula to tie it to a container even though it's outside the container.

I also have the same trouble.

I have ever succeeded adding PDF viewer control within container, but I fail right now.

I just ran into this problem for the first time today, 2 months after the original post. Is there a Powerapps version to roll back to? This is terrible; things that work break anew. All the time.

If anyone finds a resolution to using a pdf viewer with a responsive, containerized layout @ me, please. For now, I guess I'll have to offer a button link to another application that utilizes the pdf viewer and is built unresponsively... non-responsively? ... one that isn't responsive.

I had a job ticket out on this issue, and they're not going to fix it. They have decided that this is a feature and not a bug, so you're out of luck. Once again, a bug has been fixed by redefining as a feature. The quality of service of Powerapps is terrible. I'm disgusted. See below:

    Hi Mike,

As per the update received from our Product team. This actually is not a bug, it is currently by design and this is determined by the PDF viewer and not the container.

The PDF viewer control is only allowed at the root of screens/components today. We used to have a copy/paste bug that allowed users to side-step many rules but that has been fixed. So you can no longer copy/paste the pdf viewer into a container.

I am waiting for further updates. Please let me know if you need any more details.

    Best Regards,

    Hi,

There is "still" no solution for this.

A workaround this issue, if you want a responsive design, is to create a blank container just to set the dimensions and position of where you want your pdf viewer to be displayed.

Then, you link X, Y, Height, Width of the pdf viewer to those of the container.

It's not pretty, but it works.

If you add it to a Custom Component with the PDFviewer in with the width and height of Parent.Width and Parent.Height then it will be responsive if you add the custom component to the screen.

Very silly for it not to be a responsive component.
