PowerApps Permission

Hi All,

As we all know anyone who has the PowerApps license assigned can create Apps on the Default environment. The issue is as government organisation we have to protect the data and dont want to allow anyone to create apps and expose data.

How can we stop this?

I have created an app and shared with staff, now our GA wont allow to assign license for the staff that I have shared the app with as when we assigned license they will be able to create apps on the default environment. (I know if only they have access to the data source they can create apps based on the data source, but how can I convinced the business that even the staff create apps it wont risk our data.)

I have created the app on the production environment and shared from there, I didnt give AppMaker or Environment admin for the staff, so they wont be able to create apps in this Production environment. The issue is default environment.

I have checked following two links

link 1

Link 2

But still I didnt get the answer, can someone please explian this to me.

Thanks.

In any environment, except the default environment, you can accomplish this by removing the Environment Maker role from the user in the Security Tab for the Environment in the admin center. If you do that user's will be able to use PowerApps that are shared with them from that environment but they will not see the environment in PowerApps studio and therefore won't be able to create new apps. Unfortunately, the tenant itseflt has been given the Environment Maker role in the default environment and you can't change that. Right now you can lock users out of creating apps in every environment except the default one.  You then will have to monitor the default environment to remove apps created by users that violate company policy. There is no other way.

    Hi,

I m thinking to buy Power app licence(P2) so then we can create two production environments within O365 and shared with staff within our division. Currently we have O365 E3 licence and we have one Powerapps production environment which is  shared with other divisions.

Do you think is this a good idea to buy a P2 and create our owned Production environments? what are the advantaged and disadvantaged on this approach, also I hope ,our division can use O365 power app licence to access the apps that I m sharing with on our Production environments that I will set up using Power apps P2 licence?

Can you please explain what is mean by Common Data Service Database capacity (per user license)  is 250 MB and Common Data Service File capacity (per user license) 2GB?

    Thanks.
