Daily recurrence flow to Sharepoint list B from Sharepoint list A with combined entries

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to create a flow that auto populates the number of entries created within a day from Sharepoint list A (condition set corresponding to the "Issue" chosen, to Sharepoint list B which only shows the type of issue and the number of entries impacted with that issue.

Note that the total number of entries within that a particular day will be placed under "total users impacted" column on Sharepoint B.

Below is a screenshot of Sharepoint A

Appreciate if someone has done a similar template to share with me their workflow. This flow is to be triggered daily around 11PM to auto-populate the number on entries submitted based on the "issue". Sharepoint B is the master list and Sharepoint A will be replicated to other classes for them to submit any system issues they are facing.

I am fairly new to microsoft list and flow but eager to learn from the community. So far I could not find anything on youtube etc.

Thank you!

    Hi there!

For this one, I'd start with a view in your SharePoint list A called "TodaysEntries" or something like that, where the view is filtered to Created By = [Today]. This will make it easier in our flow!

The next step is to create your scheduled 11PM flow. The first action will be "get all items", using your SharePoint view (TodaysEntries) to filter what you get back.

Now, you have a nice package to count - to do this, initialize a variable. I'd call it something like, intNumberOfEntries. Use an expression in the value of length(collection) (where your collection is your SharePoint list that was returned -- detailed instructions here: https://tahoeninjas.blog/2019/07/04/how-to-count-number-of-items-returned-by-sharepoint-getitems-action-in-flow/ )

You will now be able to use your intNumberOfEntries to write into your other list.

Let me know if you need more clarity!

    Cheers,

    Rhia
