Hi All,

I have a desktop flow which downloads a file from a webpage, I need this file to be moved to either a one drive folder to be shared with my team or sent over email. Can you advise how to do this?

Please.

Thank You!

    HI,

Solution 1: Upload to OneDrive (Recommended)

Method A: Direct OneDrive Upload (Desktop Flow)

    1. Download file from webpage
       └── Output: DownloadedFilePath

    2. Move Files action:
       ├── From: %DownloadedFilePath%
       ├── To: C:\Users\[Username]\OneDrive\[SharedFolder]\
       └── If file exists: Overwrite

    3. Wait for file sync (2-3 seconds)
       └── Wait action: 3 seconds

    4. Optional: Get file properties to confirm upload
└── Get file info: Check if file exists in OneDrive folder

Method B: Cloud Flow Integration (Best Practice)

    Desktop Flow:
    1. Download file from webpage
    2. Save to local folder: C:\Temp\Downloads\
    3. Trigger Cloud Flow via HTTP request
└── Pass file path as parameter

    Cloud Flow:
    1. Get file from local path
    2. Upload to OneDrive for Business
    3. Create sharing link
    4. Send notification to team

     Solution 2: Send via Email

Method A: Using Outlook Desktop Actions

    1. Download file from webpage
       └── Output: DownloadedFilePath

    2. Launch Outlook action:
└── Wait for Outlook to open

    3. Send email with Outlook action:
       ├── To: team@company.com
       ├── Subject: "Downloaded File - " + %CurrentDateTime%
├── Body: "Please find the downloaded file attached."
       ├── Attachments: %DownloadedFilePath%
       └── Send: True

Method B: Using Cloud Flow for Email

    Desktop Flow:
    1. Download file
    2. Save to accessible location
    3. Call Cloud Flow via HTTP

    Cloud Flow:
    1. Get file content
    2. Send email with attachment
    3. Optionally save to OneDrive

Complete Hybrid Solution (Desktop + Cloud)

    Desktop Flow Structure:

    1. [Web Automation] Download file from webpage
       └── Output: DownloadedFile

    2. Get file info:
       ├── File path: %DownloadedFile%
       ├── File name: Extract filename
└── File size: Get file properties

    3. Copy file to OneDrive sync folder:
       ├── From: %DownloadedFile%
       ├── To: C:\Users\[Username]\OneDrive\TeamShared\
       └── Action: Copy (keep original)

    4. Wait for OneDrive sync:
       └── Wait: 5 seconds

    5. HTTP Request to trigger Cloud Flow:
├── URL: [Your Cloud Flow HTTP trigger URL]
       ├── Method: POST
       ├── Body: {"filename": "%FileName%", "filepath": "%OneDrivePath%"}
       └── Headers: Content-Type: application/json

    6. Clean up (optional):
       └── Delete original downloaded file

    Cloud Flow Structure:

    1. HTTP Request Trigger
└── Receive file details from Desktop Flow

    2. Get file content from OneDrive:
├── File path: From trigger body
       └── Output: File content

    3. Parallel branches:
├── Branch A: Send email notification
       │ ├── To: Team members
│ ├── Subject: "New file available: [filename]"
│ ├── Body: Include OneDrive link
       │ └── Optional: Attach file
└── Branch B: Create sharing link
├── OneDrive action: Create sharing link
           ├── Permissions: Edit/View
           └── Send link via Teams/Email

    4. Post to Teams (optional):
       ├── Channel: Team channel
├── Message: "New file uploaded: [filename]"
       └── Include sharing link
