Hi

I am writing flow to :

- When receiving a email (with filter option)

- Export Email

- Store export to sharepoint library as .msg file

Flow creation is ok : see screenshoot

But when I am trying to donwload the file from sharepoint i'v got an error message : "file couldn't be open, maybe file is already open or check security...."

More the .msg file created in sharepoint is not index by sharepoint.

Any Idea ? Help ?

Regards

Emmanuel

    Hi @SOULOUMIAC,

I did a test on my side and encountered the same problem as you. Please try changing the extension type of the file to ".eml".

After I use ".eml" as the extension of the file, the saved emails can be opened normally.

    Please take a try.

    Best Regards,

    hi,

Thanks for answer, i also perform the test with .eml file and that is working.

But .... .eml file are not index by 365 sharepoint, so could not use search power of sharepoint on this file.

    Regards
    Emmanuel

I have the exact same issue.

It appears that Flow only creates a .eml formatted email. However Sharepoint online does not appear to index this file type.

If I manually upload a regular.msg formatted email to Sharepoint Online, it does get indexed and its content is searchable.

If I manually upload a regular .eml formatted email to Sharepoint Online is does not get indexed and its contents are not searchable.

So how to we get Flow to create email files as .msg files or how do we get Sharepoint Online to index .eml files.

Hi Guys,  I had the same issue as above and using ".eml" helped me open the email (in concat). However, now I have the problem that the email file is empty. None of the original email text or header info is in the new file that gets created. Can anyone help me with this? Why is my .eml file empty?

Hi again - I found the solution to my problem on a different feed. The "Body" selected was not the correct one, which must be "from the export".  I'm still not clear on the difference or how I found the correct one vs. the wrong one I had originally, 🤔 but now its working.
