""Duplicate chat members is specified in the request body."" when creating a MS Teams Chat from Flow

Hello!

I've made the newbie mistake of adding myself to the users to whom the chat will be created, so I get that error in the subject. I undersand form this answer that I shouldnt add myself, as I'm there by default: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Can-t-Create-a-Teams-Group-Chat-in-Flow/m-p/963030

The thing is that If I do not add myself, chat opens for others BUT not for me. I dont see anything in MS teams.

so If I add myself, flow fails, I f I dont, I'm not in the chat.

the account I use in flow is the same corporate account I use in teams

any hint?

    Hi @Anonymous,

    A workaround could be to use a service account for the connection in the Create a Chat action in the Power Automate flow.

    This way you are able to add yourself and the chat should open while not getting the error.

    Thanks;

    I've been llooking into it, and seems I need a different license for this. I dont feel comfortable having to pay for a special license to solve what I think is a bug (or at least it makes little sense).

    thanks!

    Hi @Anonymous,

    Ok, fair point. In that case you could also contact Microsoft support and see if they can help you out with that potential bug:

    https://powerautomate.microsoft.com/en-us/support/

    In the meantime I will think about an alternative workaround which does not require additional licensing

    The answer to this issue is pretty easy finaly:

    Do not put your self as a Recipient !

    Best Regards, 🙂
