Help with a flow that adds form submissions to a sharepoint list

Hello,

Im pretty new to making flows work and am not sure what im doing wrong.

I am trying to make a flow that backs up my form responses into a sharepoint list.

I followed guides online and ended up with a sharepoint list with a column for each question and the following flow:

Capture1.PNG

Capture2.PNG

My problem is that this just doesn't add anything to the list I made. Also for some reason, there are 2 questions that the dynamic content just doesn't appear in the list.

What am I doing wrong. any help is appreciated.

Sam

    Hi!

Did you already inspect yout Flow 'Run History'?

So first you can verify if the flow is triggered when a response is received. Next, verify if flow is executed properly or failed.
IF so, you will be able to share a screenshot of your flow run

    Hope this helps

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I cant confirm that the flow is triggering because every time I try to use the test function the loading wheel just spins forever like its waiting for me to finish entering my form, even though I have.

    Any suggestions?

You should check if your flow has been executed be having a look to your flow run history. GReat stuff here...

    https://subscription.packtpub.com/book/web_development/9781839213793/16/ch16lvl1sec37/reviewing-the-run-history

    ...and also here...

    https://blog.encodian.com/2020/05/troubleshooting-flows-in-microsoft-power-automate/

    But... Wait, wait, wait....

You have implemented a Microsoft Forms trigger based flow, right? Once saved, are you hitting 'Test' option button on the top right of the Flow design page?

If so, you will get nothing, you need to explicitly fill your 'Microsoft forms' questionnaire to force you Flow be executed

    Hope this makes sense

    Hi,

So it looks like my flow isnt triggering. I have submitted multiple entries and while they appear in the forms results page, the flow has no runs. Im not sure why this isnt triggering.

    Ok,

I think i have worked out the issue. The form I want to draw responses from is housed in a group. The questions where the dynamic content doesn't appear were edited into this group version, where as I think i'm looking at the original version that has the same name (that didn't contain these questions). This would also explain why my flow isnt triggering, because im referencing the wrong form.

Now that I have worked out the problem, it asks the next question: can I reference a form in a group that I am not an owner/admin of, even if I added the form to the group.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi!

You can reference a Form belonging to a group as soon as you are owner of the group

If you are not part of such group, unfortunately you cannot invoke it from Power Automate, due to confidentiality concerns

please consider to mark this topc as solved, this way other community members facing a similar problem can find a solution faster
Sorry for the bad news, and Thanx for making this community great!
