Hello,
I don't know the best place to ask this, but let's see how this works. I learned and fell in love with PowerApps at work, but I am only going to be working there for another year. I have some personal Access databases that I use at home, but I want to make them into PowerApps. How can I buy a license for just me without a work or school email address? I'm willing to pay, and I am still having trouble finding the right way to do it. Is there really no such thing as PowerApps for an individual at home?
Hi @Oscarfotz
Unfortunatlely, there's no such thing as Power Apps for individuals at home.
To use Power Apps for your personal projects and to be correctly licensed, you can buy a domain name (to give you a 'work email') and subscribe to the Microsoft 365 Business Basic package.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/business
If you are developing Power Apps for 'learning' purposes, an alternative is to register for the Microsoft 365 developer program. This will give you access to an 'onmicrosoft.com' work email address, and will give you access to Power Apps.
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/dev-program
If you get sorted with the Developer tenant as mentioned above, you can then take advantage of the Power Apps developer plan
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/developer/create-developer-environment
Developer tenant & new user is created IN ENTRA but while trying to login into https://aka.ms/PowerAppsDevPlan using newly created user Email which ends with .onmicrosoft.com the https://aka.ms/PowerAppsDevPlan website repeatedly asking for password.
You can't use Power Apps without Enterprise Version License which is costly as it is built for an Organization or Enterprise. So sorry buddy, you won't be able to use Power Apps for personal use at home.
Is the learning purpose for free though? And I can develop canvas apps with it?
Well the below link has some useful information regarding PowerApps dev plan, which is plucked from current Thread.
I am RPA developer and wanted to practice Power Automate!
