Hi,

I am connecting to a database, when i connect to one table after inserting a new form the fields are displayed as;

and it allows me to update the row in the DB which is what I need.

The other table the fields are;

I cant seem to change these fields to be the same as above, could not find anything different in the DB it affects all the fields in this table.

Both tables are in the same DB

If the StudentID is the Primary key (Auto Generated) in SQL then System won't allow you to edit it.

it is all columns in the table are same cannot edit any of them

Another possible option may be, You are using the "Display form" instead of the "Edit form".

Create new screen
Insert the "Edit" form
Assign "DataSource"

So annoying, it is now working as expected
I dropped the table in the DB and recreated it into a different schema from the dbo.
I also dropped it from Power BI and added it back.

I worked out the first time I was actually connecting to the view in the DB (it had same name as the table)
Also the Table you connect to must have a PK defined otherwise it will only allow you to 'view' and not edit

That's correct.

We can only view when we connect dbo.Viewname
To update data in SQL, we have to connect to Table and the table should have Primary Key enabled

Note: The Patch command is different than normal If we use Patch instead of Submit the form.
