Save Email body including embedded images into Sharepoint list

Hi,

I've built a flow to save emails into a Sharepoint list but any embedded images in the email body don't translate into the list item.
I can get them to attach as images to the list item but the list item description still shows the broken images.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Damien

    Hi @BalletBob,

Could you please how do you save the Email to the SharePoint?

Store them into a list as a item or a library as a file?

    @v-litu-msft

They go into a list as an item because we want them as a news feed.

    • Outlook 365 when a new email arrives  (include attachments = yes)

    • Create SharePoint List Item

    • Apply to each Attachments
      • Add attachment to SharePoint list item

    Hi @BalletBob,

Ok, thanks for your Flow configuration screenshot.

"list item description still shows the broken images"

How do you initialize the item description?

I'm not doing anything special to initialise the description.

I'm just taking the email body and getting the flow to put it in the item content field.

(sorry, I mean the content field. there is no description field)

The source code of the List item does show the correct file name to what has been attached to the item. Is there a way the code can reference the item attachments or am I needing to do something else?

    Hi @BalletBob,

Ok, thanks for your patient reply. I understand what you want to do now. The src is not the extract from the attachment, the attachments of the Email is store in a cloud:

    https://attachments.office.net/

If you store the Email body into the description, there is no way could display the image in the Email, please refer to this post:

    Interesting.

Is this something to put on the UserVoice list (if it's not already there) or is this just never going to work?

I don't supposed there is a way to get an image to display in a List Item content field either. If we could, then we could possibly look at converting the email to an image and posting that to the List Item content field instead of text.

Failing any of this, next option would be to try to strip the image code out of the email body before it posts into the list. At least it wouldn't show broken image placeholders.

I have the same issue. Did you ever figure out how to render the images in SharePoint?

    Thank you,
