Cannot read NFC

Hello,

My app is reading NFC tags with the following code on a button OnSelect:

With(
    ReadNFC(),
    Set(gblNFCId, Coalesce(Identifier, "No ID"));
    ForAll(NDEFRecords,
        Collect(tagRecords,
            {ID: gblNFCId, Value: Coalesce(Text, URI)}));
    Notify(gblNFCId))

It works perfectly.
When copying and pasting this code to another domain, nothing happens.

ReadNFC function simply does not work!

Why? Is there a setting? I've checked each and every configuration setting, used the same version of power apps.

    Hi,

    I've never used the ReadNFC() function before, but I wanted to try to help. I went to: ReadNFC function - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn and followed the Step-by-step example. I published the app and opened it in Power Apps on my phone.

    The button does not appear to do anything. I added
    Notify("Done");
    to the Button OnSelect at the end. The Notification does not appear in the app.

    I went thru some troubleshooting steps and verified that NFC is enabled on my phone. I downloaded NFC Tools and verify that the "Ready to Scan" prompt comes up.

    I also went into the App OnError property and set it to:
    Notify(
        Concatenate(
            FirstError.Message,
            ", Observed: ",
            FirstError.Observed,
            ", Source: ",
            FirstError.Source
        ),
        NotificationType.Error
    );
    No error was returned.

    See Power Apps OnError Property: Capture & Log Unexpected Errors by Matthew Devaney for info on how to add this to your app.

    I also opened an app that I created 3 years ago and added the ReadNFC() function to a button to see if maybe the Version would make a difference. It did not.

    Can someone else try this out?

    Hi,

    I found this post which is related to what you are seeing:

    The suggestion is:
    Inside your canvas app you can go to settings => support => Authoring version (Edit) and select an older version until this issue has been resolved.

    I have tried this and I was not able to get it to work. I then tried going to a newer version. Version 3.24103.11 worked for me.

    What do you mean by: When copying and pasting this code to another domain? Would help me assist better.
    I'd suggest going through all the good material too that MarkBandR has shared below.

    Kind regards,
    Nandit

    Did switching to Version 3.24103.11 or a later version solve the problem for you?

    In my testing it did.
