Different User in Approvel Flows

Hi,

i made an approvel  Flow in my company. In a Sharepoint list, all users can write a new item to send a mail to the manager. He can approve or dinied this (in my example for holidays.)

It works fine, but in the mail for the manager always stand, that this approvel cames from the name of that user, who makes this flow (me) and not the user, who writed the new item in the sharepoint list.

When the manager approve/dinied that, a mail comes from the user who maked the flow (me) to the user who want to go to holiday. But it must coming from the manager.

I hope you understand my problem and i really hoping for help. Sorry for my bad english.
This picture explain my problem:

Thanks

Andy

    Hi,

    thanks for your answer.

I fill this field "Requested by:" and now the first problem is solved. Thanks

But when the manager approve/dinied a request the user becomes a mail from the maker of the flow and not from his manager. How can i fix this problem?

    Thanks

    Andy

    Hi again!

    First problem solved?

If so, please note that the easiest fastest way to say thanks to somebody that provided a partial but valuable input is by clicking on 'Thumbs up' in every valuable answer on this current thread... or even in all of them 😉

Now let's talk about your second issue.

The more reasonable approaches are two:

1-Convince your IT guys to create an office 365 'dedicated' user to run this flow.

2-Convince your manager to delegate the corresponding permissions to the flow owner, so he/she can send emails on behalf of your manager. Under this approach, flow owner would be able to assign manager's email address to 'From (SEnd as)' input on 'Send an email' action block. MOre info here

    Hope this helps

    Hi @AndyPBC ,

You need to understand if the flow would send an email from the manager's account, the flow need to have the permission to send the email from this account.

And flow would always send an email from the connection account, you could add a send an email action in the flow and update the connection account of this action to the manager account, so the email would be sent by the manager.

However, if the flow would have different manger for different requestor, your requirement is not easy to be achieved since you need to add all the permission for all the approvers.

    Best regards,

    Alice
